    Laurie Hazard, Ed.D., Educator - Counselor - Consultant

    Laurie L. Hazard is the founder of Recognize Your Potential.  She is a higher education consultant who has over thirty years of operational and strategic experience in the field of student success, FYE, and higher education administration. Her experience ranges from assessment work to developing innovative services and programs for a wide variety of colleges and universities tailored for their specific populations. As the former Assistant Dean for Student Success at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, she was responsible for ensuring that students had a positive, thriving experience from matriculation to graduation.

    For many years, she also taught in the Psychology Department.  Laurie does research and writes about parent involvement, and student personality types and classroom success. She is an award-winning expert on how students can make successful transitions from high school to college. In addition to motivational speaking for students, Laurie does faculty and staff development, and has been a higher education consultant for the past fifteen years. Currently, Laurie teaches in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at New England Institute of Technology. Laurie is the co-author of Your Freshman Is Off To College: A Month-by-Month Guide to the First Year, for parents of new college students.
