Rebecca Ancira has over twenty years of higher education experience, with the majority of that time at Tulane University. She began her Tulane career in the Registrar’s office managing all external reporting including IPEDS, Common Data Set, and US News data. As an integral member of the commencement team, Rebecca has planned and executed twenty unified commencement ceremonies.
After joining the undergraduate admission office, her focus shifted to student retention and success. The efforts of a small retention group helped increase Tulane’s retention and success rates steadily over the years. That work eventually led to the creation of a dedicated retention and student success office.
In addition to her work with commencement and retention, one of her proudest Tulane accomplishments is leading the team that hosted the 2018 International Association for College Admission Counseling’s annual conference. Over 1,400 admission professionals from 100 countries attended the event and its impact is still being felt on campus today with steadily increasing rates of international students enrolling at Tulane.
