Monique Perry

Dr. Monique Perry is an award-winning administrator, educator, leadership coach, speaker, and author. Dr. Perry considers higher education her life’s work and enjoys sharing her leadership experiences from the private sector and higher education to promote student success through a focus on access, equity, learning, and completion. For the past decade, Dr. Perry has served in positions of increasing responsibility across the higher education ecosystem including academic affairs, communications/marketing, and enrollment management at York Technical College; a community college serving York, Chester, and Lancaster Counties. She currently serves in dual leadership capacities at York Tech as the College’s Campus Operating Officer (COO), overseeing campus sites in Chester and Lancaster Counties and Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. In addition to the oversight of the college’s off-campus centers, Dr. Perry’s portfolio includes leadership of 6 departments and 40 individuals responsible for recruiting and enrolling over 4,000 students annually, equivalent of $15M+ in revenue. A strong commitment to student success and innovation resulted in her selection by the South Carolina Technical College System as the recipient of the A. Wade Martin Innovator of the Year award in 2017. In 2018, Dr. Perry was one of the first leaders from South Carolina chosen for the national Aspen Institute Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence.

Within her community, Dr. Perry was recently chosen as an honoree for the 2018 Athena International Leadership Award in the public sector category and was named to The Mecklenburg Times newspaper “Icons and Phenoms” Leadership Class of 2018. She is a 10-year member of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc., an international women’s volunteer organization; holding various leadership positions including leading the Human Resources function for the 1000+ member organization, and serving as incoming Nominating Vice Chair for 2019-2020.

Dr. Perry earned her doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida and was named a Distinguished Alumni Award finalist by her doctoral program. She completed a graduate degree in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University and earned an undergraduate degree in English from North Carolina Central University. She is a leadership coach, and holds a Coaching Certificate from the Associate of Talent Development (ATD) and has also studied at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). She has given presentations on the national, regional and local level on leadership and various higher education areas.
