Michelle Bair enjoyed a career as a macro social worker in community-based organizations before transferring to the field of higher education. She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Virginia State University and a Master of Science in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. As a first-generation and low-income student, herself, she has devoted her energies toward "paying it forward" and finding greater pathways of access to underrepresented students. She currently works as a Program Advisor for the TRIO Student Support Services program at Virginia Commonwealth University and also serves as the President for the Virginia Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (VAEOPP).
