Matt Davis is a native of Bowling Green, KY. He has been with the Student Accessibility Resource Center at Western Kentucky University (WDU) since August 2001. He has been Assistant Director since 2016. He has extensive experience working with students with disabilities. He is a graduate with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social work from WKU and has been accepted for Fall 2019 in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at WKU. He currently serves on the Kentucky Statewide Vocational Rehabilitation Council. He also served on the KATS (Kentucky Assistive Technology Service) Advisory Network for the state of Kentucky. He is Past-President of the Kentucky Association of Higher Education and Disability. He is also the Past-President of the National Wheelcats (NW). The NW are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide access to exercise/adaptive sports programs for individuals/groups in the Kentucky/Tennessee region. He is also on the LifeSkills, Inc. Board of Directors. LS is a provider of mental health/substance abuse services in 10 county regions in Kentucky. Matt is also on the Western Kentucky University ADA Advisory Committee as well as adjunct faculty in the Department of Social Work at WKU. He is an adult with Spina Bifida and participates in a variety of adaptive sports. He has presented both regionally and nationally on the topic of ADA compliance, college transition, sexual health and disability, and other various disability-related topics.
