Julie Achtyl is the Co-director of Operations, and Director of Counselor Education at Strong Recovery/addiction psychiatry outpatient clinic and the division chief of CASAC’s at the University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry. Julie has primary oversight of the Adolescent/Young Adult clinic, the Adult CD clinic, training and education, and CCBHC Outreach services. Julie is a licensed mental health counselor, credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor, nationally certified counselor, and approved clinical supervisor. In 2017 Julie became a NYS certified trainer in Clinical Supervision Foundations II and has trained hundreds of supervisors across the state. Additionally, in 2020 Julie returned to her Alma Mater, the Warner School of Education to pursue a Ph.D. in counseling and counselor education. Julie blends her passion for counseling, clinical supervision, leadership, and teaching through training professionals and mentoring clinical staff and students.
