Dr. Derek Moore
Full Bio
Dr. Derek Moore currently serves as Vice President for Student Services at South Arkansas Community College. He provides vision and leadership of enrollment management, student success, student support services, and athletics, along with related grant programs. Prior to SouthArk, Dr. Moore was Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success at Arkansas State University Mid- South, where he led student retention and engagement efforts of the college. He was Director of Academic Advising and Career Services at UA Community College at Morrilton, where he also served as chair of the college’s student retention committee.
Dr. Moore currently serves as an advisory board member of HERDI Innovate (Higher Education Research and Development Institute), and Innovative Educators. He was a founding board member of TYFY, Two-Year First Year. He is a current board member and past president of the El Dorado Rotary Club. Dr. Moore also serves as a board member of the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce and El Dorado Boys and Girls Club. He also volunteers at Hugh Goodwin Elementary in El Dorado as a reading specialist.
His educational background consists of a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff; Master of Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; and Doctorate of Education, with emphasis in higher education leadership, from Morgan State University.
Tim R. Johnson is a higher education professional with over 10 years of experience in student affairs. Johnson currently serves as dean of Student Success at South Arkansas Community College, but has held roles within admissions, registration, advising, early college, and career development. Johnson holds a Master of Education in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education. As a Global Career Development Facilitator, Johnson sought to extend his knowledge within assessments, becoming an MBTI® certified practitioner through the Myers-Briggs® company. Johnson has been a member and/or involved with professional organizations such as Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrar’s and Admission Officers (ArkACRAO), and the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE). Johnson has served on community boards such as the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the CIRCLE Initiative Foundation Board, and Changing Lives Ministries Church Board. As an author/consultant with Truth Consulting, LLC, Johnson seeks to encourage and empower others in establishing and pursuing their goals.
