Dr. Daylan J. Moore, Ph.D., NCC, LAC

Dr. Daylan J. Moore is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), working full-time in the Student Counseling Center at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). For the last 3 years, he has also been an Adjunct Professor for Masters-Level Counseling Students at John Brown University's CACREP-Accredited Program (Little Rock, AR Campus). Dr. Moore has clinical experience working with individuals and groups across the lifespan in outpatient, acute hospitalization, and college mental health settings. He has administrative experience as a former clinical director, overseeing the processes associated with Masters-Level counselor training, supervision, and client care for the Community Counseling Clinic associated with John Brown University (Little Rock, Arkansas Campus).
In the past few years, Dr. Moore has been invited to give over 20 interactive presentations to student organizations, faculty/staff groups, and community groups about enhancing mental health and well-being and connecting individuals to sustainable health-promoting resources. He has also been invited to speak to the leadership teams of human service and healthcare organizations regarding trauma-informed leadership practices and managing vicarious traumatization. A member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Moore is also an Advisory Board Member for Six Bridges Clinic, an Adolescent and Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program in collaboration with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH). He has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on counselor education and culturally competent pedagogy. Moore has presented at state, regional, and national conferences about stress management, mental wellness, and addressing the mental health crisis on college campuses.
Dr. Moore earned a Master’s degree (M.S.) and an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Harding University’s CACREP-Accredited Program. Dr. Moore successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in February 2025, and his Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies (emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology) at Regent University will be conferred in May 2025. His dissertation research was rooted in holistic responses to chronic stress in the higher education workplace and how to mitigate the negative manifestations of stress through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally competent psychoeducational program.
