April Menzies

Dr. April Menzies, an award-winning faculty member, currently serves as Dean of Instruction at Front Range Community College, a multi-campus institution and the largest community college in Colorado. Over her fifteen-year career, Dr. Menzies has taught a variety of courses in Anthropology, Education, Multicultural Education, and Academic Achievement. She has delivered instruction in traditional, blended, and fully online settings. She has been involved in numerous student success initiatives including designing and delivering courses, launching a campus success center, and formulating an innovative institutional approach to cultivating student success.

During her years in corporate education, developing and delivering training, Dr. Menzies pursued her passion – primatology – by volunteering on nationwide projects of the Jane Goodall Institute. Her first published paper, presented on the national stage, followed Dr. Goodall’s opening remarks at the ChimpanZoo National Conference. Dr. Menzies combined her unique behavioral observation skills and love of learning as she earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University.
